Activist Aisha Yesufu has fired back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over remarks he allegedly made about her political ambitions.
Wike, while speaking at an event in Rivers State on Saturday, reportedly mocked Aisha Yesufu over her failure to secure the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial ticket, stating that real politics goes beyond media appearances.
Reacting in a post shared on her X handle, Aisha Yesufu challenged the minister to mention her name directly if he truly meant his comments.
“If dem born Wike well, make e call my name with his full chest! What Tambuwal did him in 2022 will be child’s play,” she wrote.
Responding further to Wike’s remarks about her senatorial primary loss, the activist argued that the minister himself failed to win a primary election in 2022.
She alleged that Wike lobbied unsuccessfully to become a running mate before aligning himself with another politician, a move she claimed contributed to the crisis within a once-dominant political party.
Yesufu also accused the minister of relying on political power for relevance, insisting that people from her background in Edo State do not bow to intimidation or political pressure.
