Former vice president and 2027 African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has blasted FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, over Wike’s recent remark on Atiku not getting 10% of votes in the next year’s general elections.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku claims that the electorate in Rivers State is intelligent enough to decide the outcome of elections in the state.
He also stated that no individual, despite their level of influence or access to federal power, can dictate how an entire state will vote.
Atiku Will Not Get Up To 10% of Rivers Votes
Recall that on May 31, the FCT minister confidently stated that Atiku would not secure up to 10 per cent of the total votes cast in the 2027 presidential election in Rivers State.

Wike made this vow at a luncheon in honour of candidates of the Rainbow Coalition for the 2027 General elections in the state.
According to the FCT, no candidate of any other party would emerge winner of the governorship election in Rivers State, except the candidate to the agreed by his Rainbow Coalition.
However, in response to the claims, Atiku said that the minister’s comments only exposed the growing panic within the Tinubu camp over the emergence of a formidable opposition coalition under the ADC.
In addition, he said that it was both amusing and disturbing that Wike now speaks as though Rivers voters are his personal property to be allocated at will.
