Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has criticised Peter Obi, claiming the former presidential candidate reacts negatively whenever the country records progress.
Bwala faulted Obi over recent remarks attributed to him, including his position on fuel subsidy removal and state policing.
In a post on X, Daniel Bwala said Obi had previously supported subsidy removal before the 2023 election but now appears to have changed his stance after the government implemented it.
He also referenced Obi’s earlier support for state police and foreign exchange reforms, arguing that the current administration has already taken steps in those areas.
According to Bwala, Obi’s changing positions suggest a lack of clarity on his plans for Nigeria.
The latest criticism from the Presidency of Nigeria is part of the growing political exchanges between the administration of Bola Tinubu and opposition figures, particularly Peter Obi.
Since the 2023 presidential election, Obi has remained one of the most vocal critics of Tinubu’s policies, often questioning the impact of reforms such as fuel subsidy removal, exchange rate unification, and broader economic decisions.
On the other hand, the presidency has consistently defended these policies as necessary steps toward economic recovery and long-term stability.
