Veteran Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has claimed that the entertainment industry is largely driven by self-glorification, alleging that it is dominated by influences he described as satanic.
Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Joey Akan, the actor argued that many people in the industry prioritise self-worship and elevate themselves to the status of demigods, which he said reflects the principles of satanism.
Reflecting on his personal experience, Jim Iyke admitted that there was a time he believed he was extraordinary because of the way fans reacted to him, with some crying or fainting whenever he appeared in public. However, he said his perspective changed after finding God.
According to the actor, remaining spiritually grounded in the entertainment industry requires a deliberate and conscious commitment to God.
“There is no bigger enabler than the entertainment industry. This is where demons live. Entertainment is totally created and orchestrated to extol the virtues of Satanism,” he said.
He questioned whether the industry naturally promotes values that glorify God, arguing that most of its structures encourage self-promotion rather than spirituality.
“What do we extol that is godly? I am not saying God doesn’t exist in the entertainment industry, I am saying the entertainment industry is predominantly created for satanism,” he stated.
Jim Iyke further explained that while creativity reflects an aspect of God’s nature, many people in the entertainment industry ultimately serve themselves instead of God.
“As a creative, to create is to mimic God. But in the entertainment structure many serve self. You can’t serve God and serve self. That is a conflict of interest. Serving self is satanism itself,” he said.
He added that elevating oneself to a god-like status and seeking admiration from others amounts to self-worship.
“I have been there. I have seen people cry when I walked into a room and I looked at them and thought I was special. No, you are not.
“Once you find your place with God, you will understand what is special. What is special is being able to find God in this place that is devoid of His presence,” he added.
Jim Iyke is one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actors, with a career spanning more than two decades. Beyond his film career, he has often spoken publicly about his personal transformation, faith and life experiences, sharing how his spiritual journey has reshaped his outlook on fame, success and the entertainment industry.
