Omobayo Asserts: “I Am Edo’s True Deputy Governor”
Engr. Marvellous Godwins Omobayo, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, has firmly asserted his position as the authentic officeholder despite ongoing legal disputes. During a recent visit by key transport unions, Omobayo emphasized his commitment to his role and his support for Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.
Omobayo, who remains undistracted by the current litigations, highlighted his focus on contributing to Edo State’s economic growth and transformation. His stance was supported by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), and the Edo State Drivers Welfare Scheme, who visited to show solidarity and reaffirm their confidence in his legitimacy.
RTEAN Chairman Comrade Monday Orhue and NURTW’s Chief Odion Olaye expressed their backing for Omobayo, underscoring their loyalty to Governor Obaseki and optimism for a successful tenure. They emphasized that their visit was a vote of confidence in Omobayo’s position as Edo’s recognized Deputy Governor.
