Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved a major reshuffle involving the redeployment of commissioners and the reassignment of members of the State Executive Council (SEC) to oversee key ministries and offices following recent resignations.
The directive from Bala Mohammed was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
The development follows the resignation of the Chief of Staff, Government House, Hassan Gamawa, alongside six commissioners, who reportedly stepped down to pursue political ambitions.
In response, Bala Mohammed ordered the immediate reassignment of some cabinet members to take charge of the affected ministries and offices on an interim basis, pending appointment of substantive replacements.

Under the new arrangement, Hashimu Yakubu, Principal Private Secretary (PPS), will oversee the Office of the Chief of Staff, Government House, while Dr. Mohammed Lawal R/Zayam has been assigned to supervise the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hassan Usman El-Yakub, will now oversee the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Usman Shehu, has been directed to supervise the Ministry of Water Resources.
Also affected, the Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Ahmed Kawule, will oversee the Ministry of Rural Development and Special Duties.
In addition, Amina Muhammad Katagum, Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination, has been assigned to supervise the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, while Mohammed Sadiq Shira will oversee the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
The Chief Security Adviser to the Governor, Sani Mohammed, has also been tasked with supervising the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs.
Governor Bala Mohammed expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service and urged the newly reassigned officers to fully commit to their new responsibilities. He also directed them to work closely with Permanent Secretaries to ensure smooth administration across ministries, departments, and agencies.
