Bus Collision Kills Seven On Lagos Ibadan Expressway.
The crash involved three vehicles: a Mack truck with registration number SEY363YY, a tanker registered as T2900LA, and a yellow bus LSD180YA.
Seven people have been confirmed dead in the fatal accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway so far.
The accident, which happened at about 7 am on Saturday, involved 15 passengers along Lagos Ibadan expressway.
While confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, directed the cause of the crash to too much speed on the part of the truck driver.
Okpe stated that the truck lost control and rammed into the other two vehicles on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway.
She said, “A total of 15 people were involved which comprised of thirteen male adults and two female adults, four persons were injured, that is three male adults and one female adult, while seven people were recorded dead from the multiple crash (six male adults and one female adult).
“The suspected cause of the multiple crash was excessive speed on the part of the Mack truck which led to loss of control and rammed into the other two vehicles”
However according to her, the injured victims were taken to Divine Touch Hospital and Glory Center Hospital Ibafo, while the bodies of the dead were deposited at Idera morgue Sagamu and the crash vehicles towed off the road for free Flow of traffic.
The Sector Commander, Fasakin Akinwumi, on visiting the scene, sympathized with the families of the crash victims and enjoined them to contact FRSC IBAFO for more information.
