Nigeria’s airline, Max Air, had an air crash landing on Mallam Aminu International Airport’s runway in Kano on Tuesday at about 10:58 pm.
The plane was coming in from Lagos into Kano when the incident happened.
Fortunately, all passengers onboard the Max Air were safe from any harm and were safely rescued from the plane.
Aliyu Inuwa Mansir, one of the passengers from the Max Air flight, said, “The front tire burst into flames upon landing, filling the cabin with smoke. We had to evacuate quickly through the emergency exit. Firefighters were already dousing the flames as we got out.”
An anonymous passenger also said, “Immediately after touchdown, the tyre burst and caught fire. The aircraft then skidded to a halt on the runway.”
Max Air airline is collaborating with the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Aircraft and Equipment Department (AED) to determine the cause of the incident.
The MAX Air aircraft with the registration number 5N-MBD and flight number VM1605 is currently being investigated to know what caused the incident.
