Dangote’s diesel price falls to N1,225/litre; to supply petrol in May.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s sale of diesel at N1,225/litre is driving down prices in Oyo, Lagos, and Ogun. Each registered oil marketer receives a minimum of one million litres at this rate. The refinery began selling last Wednesday, and prices have dropped from about N1,700/litre to around N1,350/litre in some areas.

The National President of IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi, confirmed the drop, noting expectations of further reductions. Another oil marketer, Dr. Ralph Arokoyo, affirmed the sale and cited prices ranging from N1,250/litre to N1,300/litre, with expectations of further decreases. Dangote refinery plans to release Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in May, as confirmed by industry sources. This move is expected to have a significant impact on the market.
