Breaking news: The Nigerian Army will free more than 200 individuals who have been held in custody for their associations with Boko Haram.
The Nigerian Army plans to release more than 200 detainees who have been cleared of any ties to the Boko Haram terrorist group. The detainees were apprehended as part of the military’s efforts to combat terrorism in the northern region, spanning over a decade.
They will be handed over to the Borno State Government for rehabilitation and reintegration into society. The handover ceremony is scheduled to take place at Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri, the state capital, on Tuesday morning. Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno has also allocated ₦1 billion for the training of teachers across the state’s 27 local government areas, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving the education sector.
