Police Arrest Man Over Viral Video Inciting Violence Ahead.
The Nigeria Police Force arrested Suleiman Yakubu, a 34-year-old man from Plateau State, for inciting violence in a viral TikTok video under the account “Dan_Mallam68.” Yakubu urged attacks on petrol stations, security personnel, and other critical infrastructure ahead of a planned nationwide protest on August 1. He was apprehended on July 28, 2024, in Jos North and confessed to being the individual in the video. The police emphasized the importance of peaceful protests and called on protest organizers to cooperate by providing necessary information to ensure public safety. The investigation is ongoing.
