The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ondo State Chapter, has revealed that it has discovered an illicit crude oil storage facility in the state. This was disclosed in a statement signed by DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the spokesperson for the command.

According to Aidamenbor the ilegal crude oil storage was discovered during a combined operation with the Nigeria Army and TANTITA Security Service on Sunday at about 2:12 pm

Aidamenbor further revealed that the illegal crude oil storage facility was hidden in a forest inside Obe-Akingboye, Ilaje Local Government Area of the state. He explained that although the illegal crude storage was discovered on Sunday, no arrest was made as suspects had already absconded from the crime scene.

Following this, the Ondo State Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye has issued a stern warning to those associated with illegal petroleum activities to desist or face the wrath of the law.
Aidamenbor said “The Ondo State Commandant, Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, has issued a stern warning to those involved in illegal dealings in petroleum products to desist or face the full weight of the law.
”He also reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting critical national assets, particularly in the solid minerals sector.”
