Late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, has been found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging by the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja.
Judge Njideka Nwosu-Iheme dismissed Nwachukwu’s no-case plea and then gave the ruling on Monday.
Concerning his wife’s death on April 8, 2022, the court convicted him of culpable murder.
When Nwachukwu was arraigned on June 3, 2022, the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation issued a 23-count charge against him with culpable homicide, spouse abuse, child abuse, and criminal intimidation as part of the charges.
Recall that Osinachi was 42 years old when she passed on April 8, 2022 with several colleagues close to her revealed that the singer had suffered constant abuse from her husband,

The singer came to lame light after her partnership with Prosper Ochimana on the gospel hit song Ekwueme in 2017.
In his defence testimony, the defendant produced four more witnesses and four exhibits.
Judge Nwosu-Iheme concluded in her ruling that the prosecution had established its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Nwachukwu was condemned to death by hanging on Count 1 despite Reginald Nwali, his attorney, pleading for compassion.
In addition, he was fined N700,000 and given additional prison terms ranging from six months to three years on a number of other charges.
