Bobrisky Bribery Allegations: Verydarkman Arrives with Babalawo”

The ongoing investigation into the allegations against Bobrisky has taken an unexpected and dramatic turn, as social media activist Verydarkman arrived at the National Assembly with his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, and a Babalawo (herbalist). Martins Vincent Otse, better known by his online moniker Verydarkman (VDM), has become the center of attention after exposing a series of shocking claims about corruption in Nigeria’s justice system.

It all started when Verydarkman shared a voice recording in which he accused Bobrisky of bribing officers from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges. In addition, he claimed that Bobrisky paid certain prison officials at Kirikiri prison to enjoy a luxurious stay in an apartment near the prison rather than serving his sentence in harsh conditions. This bombshell recording quickly caught the attention of Nigerians and led to a call for re-investigation by the Minister of Interior Affairs, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

As a result of the recording, two prison officials were suspended, and both Verydarkman and Bobrisky were summoned for questioning to aid the investigation. The House of Representatives has since initiated a probe into the bribery accusations, hoping to uncover the truth about corruption within the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

On September 26, 2024, VDM made a grand entrance at the National Assembly Complex, dressed in his Edo white traditional attire. However, it was the presence of a Babalawo—his spiritual adviser—that really set social media ablaze. In a video that quickly went viral, the Babalawo was seen performing a spiritual ritual before VDM entered the assembly, pouring oil into his mouth and splashing it on VDM’s hands. As the Babalawo rang a bell continuously, the activist walked confidently into the building, flanked by Adeyanju.

The public reaction to this event has been a mix of amusement, curiosity, and admiration. Some saw the Babalawo’s involvement as a cultural expression of spiritual protection, while others questioned the appropriateness of bringing such rituals into a serious legal setting. Regardless, Verydarkman’s bold move has undoubtedly captured the attention of Nigerians, adding another layer of drama to an already captivating story.

As the investigation continues, the public is eagerly awaiting the outcome, especially with so much at stake in terms of revealing corruption within Nigeria’s correctional and judicial systems. For now, Verydarkman’s appearance at the National Assembly, along with his Babalawo, has only heightened the intrigue surrounding this high-profile case.
