Controversial Singer Portable Given N2 million Bail by Court

Following his submission to the police after being declared wanted, controversial singer Portable was given a conditional bail of N2 million by the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Singer Portable, whose real names are Habib Okikiola, was arraigned by the police to court on a five-count charge. The charges are conspiracy, assault, and restriction; armed with cutlasses and guns, conduct possible of causing harm to Ogun public officials.

Although Portable wasn’t standing alone facing those charges, since some of his associates were also named too.

After the first hearing, Portable and his nine disciples pleaded not guilty to the five-count charges by the Ogun State police.

The police prosecuting controversial singer Portable and his disciples, who were named Nurudeen Warris, Adetola Alashe, Fatimo Muhammed, Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, Ifeoluwa Babatunde, Precious Ohiegebo, Samuel Adeleke, Gospel Kanu, and Oluwapelumi Adeosun, breached the peace of the public with an intention to kill.

According to the police, the whole issue started when some town planning officers came to Odogwu Bar which belongs to singer Portable to execute their official duties.

During the court session, singer Portable pleaded not guilty and his lawyer, Oluwatoyin Ayodele pleaded to the court to grant his client bail, stating that Portable is now remorseful and has since learnt his lessons.

The Magistrate, O.L. Oke, then granted the Zeh Nation boss a conditional bail of N2 million naira and one surety following the plea from the Singer’s lawyer.

The case has been adjourned till March 5 for the next trial proceedings.
