“You’re Dumb!” Portable Slams Asake After New Song

Portable, a controversial singer, known as Habeeb Okikiola from Nigeria, has thrown a diss at Afrobeat star Asake following Military’s release.

Portable said, “You are so dumb, you’re rich and you can never speak good English” on a viral recording where he attacked Asake’s English.

Best known for fusing Yoruba and street slang into his music, Asake recently released the song Military, wherein he declares with all boldness that English is not his first language (“Oyinbo ko oro l’enu mi”). It sparked a barrage of reactions on the streets and social media orbit, where many interpret it as a direct jab at his critics who mock his accents and choice of language.

He then went ahead to brag about his hard work and accomplishments; “Talk your shit, mo mo ke a ma n ko ba ni.” (I know it can implicate) are the lyrics to the song leading to speculation that he was throwing direct shade at Portable.

But Portable was merciless in unleashing his criticism at Asake in a video shared via his Instagram.

He went on to mock the Mr. Money With The Vibe star for being unable to communicate fluently in English despite all the money and fame.

He stated that he and Asake are equals when it comes to achievements.

Portable talked back, saying: “You sing one I sing two. Which achievements do you have that I don’t have or which country you go that I never go? You no fit speak English, boya ko lo gba teacher ooo. Olodo rabata.”
