President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, saying only his critics would fail to acknowledge the impact of his work in the FCT.
Akpabio, who spoke during the commissioning of the interchange at Arterial Road N16 – Ring Road III Intersection linking Jahi District to Gwarimpa District in the Federal Capital Territory, described Wike as a “performing minister” and a “game changer.”
The project is one of several being commissioned to mark the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Representing Tinubu at the event, Akpabio said Wike had transformed the FCT significantly, both in infrastructure and administration.
He also noted that Wike’s achievements as FCT minister have made it difficult to compare with his performance as former governor of Rivers State, where he said the minister also delivered notable projects.
Akpabio further highlighted administrative reforms in the FCT, including the appointment of permanent secretaries and a head of service, which he said had improved the structure and career progression of civil servants in the territory.
