APC: Rivers Court Judgment Not Binding.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asserted that it is not obligated to comply with the Rivers High Court ruling that reinstated the dissolved Emeke Beke-led State Executive Committee. APC Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, clarified that the party was not a party to the suit and thus not bound by the judgment. He also pointed out that the Beke-led executive had already been removed by another court and was appealing that decision. Fuanter emphasized that court judgments do not bind individuals or organizations that were not directly involved in the lawsuit.
Furthermore, the APC reiterated its recognition of the Tony Okocha-led Caretaker Committee as the legitimate body overseeing the party’s affairs in Rivers State. The NWC (National Working Committee) of the APC has planned a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for September 12, subject to President Bola Tinubu’s approval, with a caucus meeting set for September 11 to discuss party issues.
