Big Guns Meet! Is Tinubu’s Presidency Under Threat?
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo headed a colloquium to celebrate the 60th birthday of the former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha.
The occasion was held on Monday, March 24, at the Ladi Kwali Hall of Intercontinental Hotel in Abuja.

Bishop Matthew Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, was another guest at the event. He delivered the keynote address titled “Is Democracy Failing in Africa?”
Other VIPs at the occasion included Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth; Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President; Labour Party’s Peter Obi; former Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal; and former Governor of Katsina State Aminu Masari.
Atiku, who recently announced a coalition aimed at removing President Bola Tinubu from office during the 2027 elections, paid tribute to Emeka Ihedioha for his unwavering fidelity to him, even while Ihedioha was in a different political camp.

He described Emeka Ihedioha as a steadfast and determined ally, stating that his unimpaired link with the man dates back to so long as a testament to his integrity.
Ihedioha had told me when the invitation was sent to me on the event,’ I barely complained, I said “Emeka, this is Ramadan.'”
In the last 10 days of Ramadan, there is no way to stay awake at night; we steer clear during the day.’ But he insisted that he would at least do his best to be present. So I said I would attend; here we are.”

By the end of the night, a dinner was expected to round the celebration up, and support from many opposition leaders had been pouring in since Atiku’s announcement of the coalition. Notably, he and his erstwhile boss, Obasanjo, have been seen making elaborate chess plays toward the 2027 election.

The intention to remove President Tinubu from office in the 2027 elections was what Atiku said during a recent press conference in Abuja attended by former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, who just defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Social Democratic Party.
