Eugene Utubor, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on Political Mobilization and Engagement, stated on Wednesday that Senator Neda Imasuen of the Labour Party has made plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress.
According to Utubor, who met with him on Tuesday night in Benin, Imasuen is interested in joining the APC. He also disclosed that measures are being taken to make sure he boosts the party’s support at the state and national levels.
Reports gathered revealed that There has been a protracted leadership crisis and internal factionalism inside the state’s and the country’s Labour Party.
As a result, the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges’ chairman has repeatedly sidestepped inquiries about his continued affiliation with the Labour Party because of the party’s ongoing internal strife.
“I can tell you that Senator Neda Imasuen will join the All Progressives Congress in the coming days. I was with him on Tuesday, and his body language speaks volumes” Utubor noted.

He further stated, “Imasuen believes that the governor has performed remarkably well in such a short time, and it is crucial that we unite to support the governor’s vision for our people.
“He has encouraged every well-meaning Edo citizen to rally behind the governor as he works diligently for our collective progress.”
This revelation is coming less than 24 hours after former Delta state governor Okowa’s defection to the ruling APC.
Very recently, the Labour Party senator, Imasuen has been spotted at public events with prominent APC figures and reportedly maintains friendly contacts with the state’s ruling party members.
