PDP declares that APC’s period in power would expire in 2027.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a harsh critique of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a party of “political vampires” that feed on exploiting civilians while causing enormous hardship for Nigerians.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the PDP described the APC as a coalition of power-seekers, treasury looters, and manipulators intent solely on “grabbing, snatching, and running off with Nigeria’s resources,” causing countless citizens anguish.
The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, was responding to the APC’s recent assaults on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, calling them “reckless, insensitive, and an arrogant display of failure.”
Makinde has been open about the hardships that Nigerians experience under the APC leadership.
Ologunagba stated, “The APC’s attack on Governor Makinde confirms that they are nervous because their days are numbered.” Nigerians have seen through the APC’s lies, manipulations, and oppressive policies, which reveal ineffective government.
He hailed Governor Makinde as a “credible and effective leader,” pointing to his numerous development projects in Oyo State. Ologunagba stated that Makinde’s efforts, along with those of other PDP governors, demonstrate a dedication to development, democracy, and opposing the APC’s attempts to construct a one-party state.
Ologunagba expressed incredulity in the APC’s claims that Nigeria is “on the cusp of prosperity,” citing widespread insecurity, economic hardship, and deteriorating infrastructure as evidence of the party’s “anti-people policies.” He argued: “It’s ridiculous for the APC to think it can mislead Nigerians with false claims regarding performance when it has failed on all fronts, reversing the progress made during the PDP’s 16 years in power.”
He also blasted the APC’s economic deterioration
Noting, “The Naira, which sold at N168 to the dollar under the PDP, now trades at about N2,000 per dollar. Petrol costs have climbed from N87 a liter to over N1,500, a bag of rice has increased from N8,000 to over N100,000, and the cost of staple foods.
Ologunagba accused APC officials of “looting the nation’s treasury to fund their lavish lifestyles” when Nigerians faced unprecedented challenges. He stated that the APC’s recent personal attacks and data manipulation demonstrate a sense of desperation as 2027 approaches.
He said, “The APC should accept its failures and plan to exit in February 2027. The PDP, with the support of Nigerians, will put a stop to the APC’s political adventure, consigning it to political oblivion.
