Ghanaian singer Captan has alleged that his former label boss, Shatta Wale, once played a role in securing the release of Nigerian superstar Burna Boy from police custody in Ghana after he was reportedly arrested for smoking weed.
In a recent podcast interview, Captan claimed that Shatta Wale instructed him and others to go to the police station to facilitate Burna Boy’s release.
He further alleged that at another point, Shatta Wale’s team also provided shelter for Burna Boy when he was reportedly being pursued by individuals he described as dangerous.
According to him, “I once helped bail Burna Boy out of police custody in Ghana when he was arrested for smoking weed. Shatta Wale sent me and some guys to go and free him.”
He added that they also accommodated the Nigerian singer during a period when he was allegedly facing threats, helping to resolve the situation.
Captan noted that his relationship with Burna Boy has since deteriorated following a fallout between the Nigerian artist and his mentor, He. However, he stated that both he and Shatta Wale would be open to reconciliation if Burna Boy initiates it.
