The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has declared a three-day warning strike from 11th December to 13th December in Lagos State. This strike is a result of neglecting the salary demand following the requested adjustments to the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS).

NaijaEyes gathered more information that other sister unions will be joining the strike in solidarity.

In a statement by the association, it reads, “A three-day warning strike has been scheduled to commence on Wednesday, 11th December 2024, and will run until Friday, 13th December 2024, alongside other affected sister unions within the health sector.”

The Lagos government has been accused of being biased in its salary adjustments, as they only adjusted that of medical doctors under the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure while neglecting other health professionals, which is unacceptable, as the statement reads.

The association and other sister unions plan to hold a joint congress on Monday, 9th December 2024, at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital to strategise further.
