The programme, organised by South Korea’s National Election Commission, was officially inaugurated on Saturday in Seoul.
The event brought together election management bodies, electoral experts, and international observers from different countries to exchange ideas and observe the conduct of local government elections in South Korea.
Members of the INEC delegation include National Commissioner, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu; Chief Technical Adviser to the Chairman, Prof. Dimis Mai-Lafia; and Director of Training, Dr. Binta Kasim Mohammed.

As part of the programme, the delegation monitored early voting activities at a polling centre in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, gaining direct insight into South Korea’s electoral procedures and voting system.
INEC chairman Amupitan said participation in the programme is expected to deepen the Commission’s understanding of global best practices in election management, international observation, and electoral governance as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic process.
