Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has said that the current insecurity in Nigeria did not begin under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking with journalists, Umahi argued that insecurity tends to worsen during election periods.
He also urged Nigerians to avoid politicising the issue, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
“It’s appalling when people talk about insecurity, especially extreme politicians, and insult President Tinubu.
“Insecurity didn’t start with this administration. It is very unfortunate. Security is the job of everyone. Security should not be politicised.
“Why is it that anytime we are approaching elections, there is heightened insecurity? It is very unfair. Anyone who takes the life of another person under any guise, God is watching,” he said.
