Akpabio to Nigerians: We Never Promised Instant Miracles

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has slammed Nigerians saying that the All Progressives Congress(APC), administration never promised Nigerians instant miracles.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio said this while representing president Tinubu at the inauguration of the seven-kilometre access road bypassing the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.

The president stated that despite current economic difficulties, his administration has remained dedicated to carrying out the renewed hope agenda.

“When we came into office, we did not promise you miracles that would appear from thin air,”

“We promised you structural, calculated, and deliberate progress. We promise a renewed hope agenda that will touch the lives of every Nigerian citizen, not just in economic statistics but also in the reality of their daily struggles.”

Speaking further, Akpabio defended the economic reforms introduced by his administration.

“The reforms we embarked on three years ago were never going to be easy,” he said.

“We made hard choices. But they were necessary choices. Hard choices today mean a stronger Nigeria tomorrow.

He also added that “We are not building for headlines. We are building for generations to come. We will keep working day and night until every Nigerian feels the impact of good governance.”

“Let me just tell you a secret. When I was coming on the road, I took up a newspaper to read, and as I was reading, the newspaper was not shaking. I said, this is a fantastic job,” he said.
