BNXN Says Nigerian Artists Don’t Match NBA Players Financially

Nigerian Afrobeats star BNXN has shared his thoughts on the long-running debate about who makes more money between musicians and professional athletes.

The Finesse crooner stated that, apart from footballers, players in the National Basketball Association earn far more than most musicians.

BNXN explained that his friendship with some NBA players has given him a closer look at the kind of wealth they possess, stressing that many Nigerian artists are nowhere near that level financially.

Speaking during a recent livestream with streamer Ojo, the singer described NBA players as “insanely rich,” pointing to stars like Jaylen Brown as examples of athletes with massive earnings.

He added that in terms of financial strength, Afrobeats artists still have a long way to go before matching the earning power of top athletes, especially those in basketball.

BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has steadily built a name for himself as one of Nigeria’s most talented voices in the Afrobeats scene. Rising to prominence with his unique blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and street-inspired melodies, the singer gained mainstream attention after the success of his breakout collaborations and hit singles. Over the years, BNXN has become known not only for his music but also for his outspoken nature and willingness to share his views on the music industry.

Since breaking into the spotlight, the singer has worked with some of the biggest names in the Nigerian music space, cementing his place among the new generation of Afrobeats stars. His consistency, chart-topping songs, and growing international recognition have positioned him as one of the notable voices shaping the sound of modern African music.
