Flavour Accuses Kcee Of Copying His Music Style
Nigerian singer Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, aka Kcee, and highlife musician Chinedu Okoli, aka Flavour, are at loggerheads over alleged plagiarism.
Chinedu Okoli , better known by his stage name Flavour N’abania or simply Flavour, is a Nigerian singer born 23 November 1983. He began his musical career as a drummer for a local church.
Flavour is popularly known across Africa and the world for his hit song “Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)”.
In 2005, he released his self-titled debut album N’abania. In 2010, Flavour released his second studio album, Uplifted. It was supported by the singles “Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)”, “Adamma”, and “Oyi Remix”.
The album’s success made Flavour one of Africa’s most sought out artists. He was booked to perform at numerous concerts and social events following Uplifted’s release. He is currently signed to 2nite Entertainment.
Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, better known as Kcee, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Kcee was formerly in the Hip Hop duo group called Kc Presh.
He is from Amaputu in Uli in Ihiala local government area in Anambra State Nigeria. He currently has a record deal with Five Star Music.
Kcee worked with Del B, a record producer known for producing Kcee’s popular song “Limpopo”. He is the elder brother to E-money.
The recent trouble between the two singers started when Flavour seemingly accused his colleague, Kcee of copying his style.
The singer threw shade at an unnamed person for copying him on his X account on Monday 28th October, 2024.
He wrote, “Copy copy akaria.”
While Flavour didn’t mention anyone, it didn’t take long for fans and observers to figure out that he was indirectly referring to Kcee who recently switched his genres from Afropop to highlife and Igbo cultural music.
