The Italian Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Inter Milan came to a halt after Edoardo Bove suddenly collapsed 16 minutes into the game.
Edoardo, the 22-year-old player who is on loan at Fiorentina, was quickly taken off on a stretcher into an ambulance and transported to Careggi hospital, nearby to Fiorentina’s Stadio Artemio Franchi, where he regained consciousness.
This particular incident reminded the fans and players of the 2018 incident involving former captain Davide Astori, who died in his sleep in a hotel just before Fiorentina’s match at Udinese.
Earlier this year, there was another sudden collapse incident when Evan Ndicka collapsed from issues with his lungs and not his heart.
The match between Fiorentina and Inter Milan will be rescheduled at a later date, which is yet to be announced.
