The Ndigbo for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Forum (NDI-ABAT), a pro-Tinubu Igbo socio-political organization, has launched a grassroots mobilization drive to build support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The group stated that its collaboration with the City Boy Movement will enhance political engagement among Ndigbo and other key stakeholders, while also promoting dialogue centered on development, economic empowerment, and national integration.
The strategic partnership was finalized last weekend in Abuja during a joint meeting between NDI-ABAT leadership and Seyi Tinubu, Patron of the City Boy Movement, alongside key movement executives.
In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, NDI-ABAT National Coordinator Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Secretary General Dr. Ugwuoke Ugwuoke Jr. highlighted that the alliance marks a significant shift in the group’s political outreach and mobilization strategy.
According to the group’s projections, the strategic partnership aims to help Tinubu deliver 11 million votes from the Southeast region in the 2027 presidential election.
NDI-ABAT stated that it will actively engage local communities, trade associations, youth organizations, and other stakeholders across the country, encouraging voters to evaluate political leadership based on tangible policies, development outcomes, and measurable achievements.
The organization also highlighted that advocating for the creation of an additional state in the Southeast remains a central objective of its political engagement strategy.
Despite long-standing demands for increased administrative representation, it was emphasized that the Southeast remains the only geopolitical zone with just five states.
The organization affirmed its commitment to engaging the Federal Government and key stakeholders to explore options for a new state, such as Aba State, Anioma State, or any proposal supported by the local populace.
Additionally, NDI-ABAT outlined the completion of ongoing federal infrastructure projects across the region between 2026 and 2031 as a primary objective.
The group commended Minister of Works Dave Umahi and the Tinubu administration’s infrastructure drive in the zone, stressing that visible project delivery remains crucial for building public confidence in governance.
