The APC governors forum, known as the Progressive governors forum (PGF) has reportedly fired Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma as its chairman.
However, the meeting did not clearly state the reasons for the removal.
After the development, more than twenty governors appointed Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah as the head of the Progressive Governors Forum.

Reports said about 20 governors attended an emergency All Progressives Congress (APC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday night, where they reportedly reached the decision.
According to Arise TV, attendees included Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, and 17 others.
PGF DG denies removal
In the latest turn of events, the Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Folorunsho Aluko, has dismissed reports alleging the removal of Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the forum.
He said, “No meeting of the forum was held at which any such decision was taken. The PGF Secretariat has no record of, and is not aware of, any resolution removing the chairman.”

He further reaffirmed Uzodimma’s position, stressing that the Imo State governor remains firmly in charge of the forum.
He also aded that “His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, remains the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.”
The PGF DG also projected unity within the forum, noting that it “remains united, focused, and committed to its responsibilities.”
Meanwhile, the rebuttal follows an Arise News report on Thursday night claiming that about 20 governors met at the Ogun State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja and allegedly agreed to remove Uzodimma.
