Socio-political commentator Sam Amadi has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the political party with the best-organised primary elections so far, citing its structured leadership and coordination.
Sam Amadi stated that most party primaries conducted across the country have been “flawed and fraudulent,” while noting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) ranked second in terms of organisation.
In a post shared on his official X handle, he argued that aside from the ADC and APC, the primaries of other political parties lacked credibility.
“So far, @ADCNig has organised the best primary elections. Generally, the primaries have been flawed and fraudulent, but the ADC leadership has shown more structure and organisation. It has delivered the best primary elections in this electoral cycle,” Sam Amaid wrote.
Sam Amadi added that the APC’s primaries were “bold and ambitious,” though he described them as less efficient and more fraudulent compared to the ADC.
“@OfficialAPCNg is a close second. It was bold, ambitious, but reckless and fraudulent. Its primaries were less efficient and more fraudulent. Still, kudos to APC for being bold and largely coherent,” he stated.
Amadi further remarked that any party not mentioned in his assessment likely conducted what he termed “a joke” of a primary election.
According to him, successful direct primaries require clear rules, proper systems, and established protocols, stressing that political parties cannot conduct credible direct primaries without an accurate register of party members.
He also argued that primary elections should not be completed in a single day, insisting that meaningful and transparent primaries should span weeks or even months.
Amadi is known to support Peter Obi, the presidential hopeful of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), which is currently conducting its primaries nationwide.
