Ekiti governorship race: APC is finished in Ekiti – Isaac Fayose reacts as PDP candidate draws massive crowd reception

Good governance advocate, Isaac Fayose, has expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could lose the upcoming governorship election in Ekiti State.

Isaac Fayose made the remark while reacting to a viral video showing a large crowd welcoming the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, in Ado Ekiti on Friday.

Oluyede and his running mate, Hon. Deji Ogunsakin, had visited the Ekiti State capital on a strategic courtesy call to the Muslim community in the area.

The video captured a massive turnout of supporters who pledged to unseat the incumbent governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of the APC, in the June 20 governorship election.

Reacting via his Facebook page, Isaac Fayose said the APC’s hold on Ekiti politics was weakening, declaring that the party was “gone” in the state.

He further claimed that the only option left for the APC would be electoral manipulation, insisting that Ekiti residents were ready for a “new lease of life” if the process is free and fair.

Isaac Fayose also said the era of former governors and political leaders he accused of undermining the state’s development had come to an end.

He added: “Thank you for coming out today to tell all the former governors in Ekiti State that their time is up. You all came out today to say enough is enough, bye bye to APC.”
