Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has threatened to lead a protest to “Occupy Aso Rock” if the abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State are not rescued promptly.
Omoyele Sowore made the statement in a post on X on Sunday, calling on President Bola Tinubu and the nation’s security chiefs to act swiftly to secure the release of the victims.
According to Sowore, failure to rescue the abducted children and other kidnapped persons would leave no option but to stage a protest at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, within the week.
“If Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his service chiefs fail to track down and secure the release of the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and other kidnapped people, we will have no choice but to occupy Aso Rock Villa this week!” Omoyele Sowore wrote.

It was earlier reported that the victims were abducted on May 15 after armed men attacked a school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The attackers reportedly kidnapped about 45 pupils and teachers, killing an assistant head teacher and a commercial motorcyclist during the assault.
