Nigerian street-pop singer, Seyi Vibez, has removed his posts about celebrity chef Hilda Baci after she threatened to take legal action against him.
The development occurred just hours after Hilda issued a legal warning demanding that the singer delete the posts she described as defamatory and issue a public apology.
According to checks on Seyi Vibez’s social media accounts, the singer has deleted the posts concerning Hilda but has yet to publicly apologise over the allegations.
Hilda had taken action after Seyi Vibez dragged her into his ongoing dispute with Dapper Music over alleged missing catalogue royalties reportedly worth N1 billion.
Seyi Vibez was signed to Dapper Music, a record label owned by Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who is Hilda Baci’s partner. The singer joined the label in 2022.
The dispute between Seyi Vibez and the record label boss recently intensified, with the singer making claims about the handling of music royalties and catalogue earnings.
Hilda subsequently accused Seyi Vibez of making defamatory statements about her and demanded that he remove the posts or face legal proceedings.
The chef also demanded a public apology and a written undertaking from the singer that he would refrain from making further allegedly defamatory statements about her.
Seyi Vibez and Dapper Music had previously gone their separate ways in September 2024, after which the singer changed his social media bio to “Independent artist.”
