The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission invites Subomi and Wahab, sons of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya, to answer questions about the alleged abuse of the naira.
Naijaeyes reports that the Okoya siblings had just recently made the news after a video clip of them “abusing” the naira went viral.
In the viral video, the police officer also was seen. He has been identified and detained by the Nigeria Police Force.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has invited Subomi and Wahab, the sons of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya, for interrogation over alleged abuse of the naira.
Niajeyes reports that the Okoya brothers were in the news only a few days ago after a video clip circulated on the internet that caught them “abusing” the naira.
A police officer seen in the same viral video has been identified and detained by the Nigeria Police Force.
Social media has erupted in outrage over how long it took to arrest these two brothers.
Here is what activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju posted on his Facebook page on Saturday: “The Okoya sons are above the law. A country of two laws-one for the poor and the other for the rich.”
It was learnt, however, Saturday, that the anti-graft agency wants the brothers to report to the head of its Special Operations team at the EFCC office on 15A Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, on January 13, 2025, for questioning.
Michael Wetkas signed the invitation, which was sent to them by the acting director of the Lagos Directorate of the EFCC.
