In the Magboro area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area in Ogun State, a middle-aged woman named Victoria Idowu reportedly took her own life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her bedroom on Sunday, April 21, 2024. The tragic incident was discovered by her son after he returned from a church service. Upon finding his mother, the 49-year-old, hanging from the fan with a rope, he raised the alarm. Police officers from the Ibafo Division visited the scene following the report.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating that no suicide note was found. An investigation has been launched to understand the circumstances surrounding the suicide. The PPRO emphasized the importance of providing support to individuals facing mental health challenges, urging the public to offer assistance to their loved ones.
