German football legend Thomas Müller has announced he will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season, as his contract wasn’t renewed.
German football legend and Bayern Munich midfielder, Thomas Müller, has announced he won’t be part of the squad for next season, marking the end of a successful 25-year career with the German side.
Müller, who joined the club in 2000 when he was just a 10-year-old boy whose aspirations were to be the best footballer in the world and help Germany win lots of titles.
The German club decided not to renew Müller’s contract, and the midfielder took to his X page to express his disappointment after 25 years of dedicated service and thereby announced his exit from the club.

The 2014 World Cup winner will have his contract expire this season and hasn’t announced if he will retire from football or test free agency to see where his path might lead.
He said, “The decision was made by the club and not what I would have wished.
“I didn’t like how things played out back and forth in public. But I felt the appreciation from everyone involved after my long time with Bayern.”
The midfield maestro has played in 743 games for Bayern Munich, scored 247 goals, and created 273 assists, according to a post by Fabrizio Romano, a world-renowned sports journalist.
He has won 12 Bundesliga titles, 2 UEFA Champions League titles, and other domestic cups in Germany.
