Wizkid has become the first African artist to hit 8 billion streams on Spotify.
Once again, Nigerian superstar musician Wizkid (whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun) has broken another milestone record on the giant streaming app Spotify. Wizkid has surpassed 8 billion streams on Spotify.
This makes him the first African artist to achieve this feat. The 8 billion streams include leads and features on other songs. His song with Drake, “One Dance,” is the highest song with 2 billion streams on Spotify.
Notably, “One Dance” has the Guinness World Record for being the first song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify. And his own album, “Made in Lagos,” is Wizkid’s most streamed album with 1 billion streams.
Following closely in second place with 800 million streams short is Burna Boy. Burna is the second most streamed African artist with 7.2 billion streams.
