“Ekpa’s Arrest Signals Crackdown on Terror-Linked Activities”
Indeed, the Nigerian government has submitted all requirements for the extradition of Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa to the Government of Finland.
This was disclosed by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, on Channels Television on Tuesday.
Musa said: “Well, I’m sure he’s cooling off somewhere.
“Legal proceedings are in the pipeline for this, whose details I can’t divulge, and I am just happy that they caught him.
“Most of the necessary documentation is provided by FGN at the moment to Finnish Government, so I am hopeful that it will be right procedure going forward”.
In November 2024, he was arrested by the Finnish authorities along with four other suspects said to have been networking, inciting violence, and financing terrorism in Nigeria.
The Lahti District Court in Finland ordered Ekpa’s remand based on probable cause for public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent in Nigeria.
The separatist leader is accused of using social media to promote separatist propaganda and violently advocating for the secession of southeastern Nigeria.
