JUST IN: Tinubu names Sunday Dare, a former Buhari minister, as his special adviser on public relations
Sunday Dare has been named Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Presidency announced Dare’s appointment in a statement on Wednesday.
“As part of his commitment to fulfill his promises to Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has authorized the immediate implementation of eight comprehensive measures to revitalize the Administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency,” the Presidency said.
Dare was the Minister of Sports and Youths Development under former President Muhammadu Buhari before his recent appointment.
On May 29, 1966, he was born.
He has a master’s degree in international law with distinction from the University of Jos and a bachelor’s degree in international studies with second class upper from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.
Dare has previously served as a Freedom Forum Fellow at New York University, a Harvard Nieman Journalism Fellow, and a Research Fellow at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
After being appointed in August 2016, he also held the position of Executive Commissioner (Stakeholder Management) at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The president had previously declared that five ministers would be fired, seven ministers would be appointed, and ten ministers would be transferred to various positions.
Other Appointed ministers
Jumoke Oduwole was named minister of industry, commerce, and investment, and Bianca Ojukwu was made minister of state foreign affairs.
The others are Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State Education; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Federal Ministry of Labor & Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Federal Ministry of Livestock Development; and Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
