The death of Chief Godwin Adimike in Abuja has shaken Nigeria’s business community. Behind the headlines is a story about wealth, expectation, entitlement, and the dangerous silence between fathers and sons.

Chief Godwin Chinedu Adimike, a wealthy businessman, reportedly died after his 21-year-old son allegedly attacked him during a heated argument in Abuja.

Online reports said the incident happened on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the businessman’s residence located at No. 3 Hassan Adamu Street, Guzape, Abuja.

Sources also claimed the suspect, who reportedly serves in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), stabbed his father several times during the altercation.

Reports further revealed that the argument began after the young man confronted his father over money-related issues, accusing him of being stingy despite being wealthy.

He allegedly compared his situation to that of his friends whose fathers, according to him, were less wealthy but still bought cars and provided luxury lifestyle for their children.

According to sources, Chief Godwin also criticized his son for allegedly living an extravagant lifestyle and mismanaging money.

Things quickly escalated and became violent, leading to the young man allegedly stabbing his father three times. The businessman was said to have died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

Additionally, it was alleged that the suspect had returned from a nightclub earlier that day with two women who were allegedly there when the event occurred.

The police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing,

As the investigation into the unfortunate development continues, the suspect is reportedly in police custody.
